The Superfish pond filters offer an easy and compact filter for complete biological, mechanical and UV filtration all in one unit which is easy to install and easy to use.

As a general guide, pond filters are quoted as the maximum pond capacity with no fish and no sun, see below for a general guide as to the capacity the filter can cope with if your pond is in full sun or heavily stocked. Whenever you are in any doubt about what size you may need always try to get the biggest filter your budget allows.
Please note each pond in the world is unique as people design different shapes and depths of ponds, they keep different numbers and sizes of fish, plus feed different amounts and with different frequency. They have ponds in shade or full sun and have strong or very little water movement so as you can see there are many factors to take into account before buying a filter..

The filter contains filter foam and Bio-Balls, with an inbuilt UV clarifier fitted into the lid.

How It Works.

Pond water is pumped through the ultra violet lamp (UVC) section which kills green algae particles the water  then passes through the biological chamber. The biological are contains bio balls which provide a large surface area upon which beneficial bacteria thrive. The sole purpose of these bacteria is to convert and dissolve organic debris and fish waste which cause Ammonia and Nitrites both of which are harmful to fish into less harmful Nitrates. The Nitrates can then be absorbed as a food source by any plant life within the pond.

The large foam surface area provides increased filtration and beneficial bacteria growth for mechanical (trapping) and additional biological filtration, converting over a period of time unsightly green and cloudy water into clean water which is passed back into the pond via gravity.

Complete with media, UV lamp and hosetail (please note hose will need to be purchased separately to connect the pump and the filter)
